Installed 8.1 yesterday with WB service turned off.  I have it off when I'm running software that uses lots of CPU and doesn't skin well.

After I rebooted (several times), WB was gone.  Starting the program gave me a repair dialog.

Haven't gone through the process yet, but wanted to know if people had the same experience when upgrading with the service running.

That is unexpected.

I would uninstall and reinstall WindowBlinds, perhaps something has been corrupted during the Windows 8.1 upgrade.

I had installed / upgraded to 8.1 the day it was released on technet and had several apps exhibit this behavior. Re-install of the app fixed it.

I tried to install on a clean windows 8.1 system and I could apply any styles.  Unistall/redownload didn't work either.

I had Eset Smart Security and applied the recommend change to Eset to aallow WindowBlinds to function it works great now.
